"After suffering from a swollen, achy leg and varicose veins for far too long, I finally decided to see Dr. David Capallo at Coastal Vein. As soon as I walked through the front door, the environment and staff made me feel completely at ease. After a very thorough consultation, Dr. Capallo recommended laser ablation. The procedure was virtually painless, and the soft music in the background was even relaxing! Who knew that laser vein therapy could be a spa-like experience! I was back to my normal activities that very same day. The pain and swelling in my leg are gone, as is the varicose vein! Thank you, Dr. Capallo! "

Laser Treatment for Spider Veins

There are a number of different methods used to treat spider veins. One method utilizes a laser that applies energy to the surface of the skin using a special hand piece. The laser energy is absorbed into the vessel through the skin, eliminating blood flow through the vein. Immediately following treatment, veins will be similar in appearance to a scratch. The length and number of treatments varies based on your condition; however, most sessions last between 30 and 40 minutes each.

Spider veins are not a definitive indicator of venous reflux disease and may appear on a patient with healthy vein valves. Only an ultrasound diagnosis can determine the presence of venous reflux disease. If venous reflux disease exists, your physician may choose to treat this condition prior to the treatment of spider veins.
